Bouman Tom

Dry Bones in the Valley

W.W. Norton&Company, New York 2014

Galbraith3

This debut novel By Tom Bouman tells you more about the remote forests of northern Pennsylvania than about the actual plot. Henry Farrell, a policeman, keen hunter and walker, tries to solve two murders by roaming the forests and their dense undergrowth. He pursues his suspects like prey and disturbs the uneasy truce between fracking companies, traditional farmers and drug dealers. His main topic is the deteriorating social and economic situation in rural Pennsylvania.
