Llewellyn Sam

The Sea Garden

Hodder Headline, London 1999

Galbraith3

Sam Llewellyn wrote a story about Trelise, a famous botanical garden on one of the Isles of Scilly, but every reader knows immediately, that it is based on Tresco Abbey Gardens. So it is no surprise that the reader can win a holiday there by buying the book.

When Guy inherits Trelise Garden, his American wife rather unwillingly follows him to the island. And this is the trigger point for Llewellyn to delve into the more than 100 year history of the place, full of illicit love, murderous death and people lost in the treacherous seas around the island.

All very well, but a bit lengthy and overdone plotwise.
