Jackson Lisa

You donīt want to know

Hodder&Stoughton, London 2013

Having met Lisa Jackson at a reading in Munich, I had to get this signed copy of her latest whodunit, called a novel of “romantic suspense” on the cover.

Jackson quite openly talks about her literary career, which started with romantic novels and only turned to crime, when her editor suggested she might try that genre. And she has always been helped by her sister, who is a writer in  her own right, but  remains in her more famous sisterīs shadows.

Contrary to other famous writers Jackson puts all her creative energy and literary skills into giving her readers what they really want: a gripping scenery = an old haunted estate on a small wind swept island off the coast of Washington State, a tragic but beautiful heroine driven to near insanity by her treacherous family and husband, a strong, attractive but mysterious stranger and more twists in the plot than you would care for, but suspense to the very last page.
