I donīt know, how many Richard Jury novels Martha Grimes has written, but I found out, that they are all named after a different pub. And, like Donna Leon, Grimes, a fellow American, prefers to set her stories in a European country.

Here itīs England, as all true Grimes addicts will know. And they also will probably understand, what itīs all about. I had the greatest difficulties finding out how the investigative characters are related. And that is the main thing here, apart from Martha Grimesī admiration for Henry James. So another writer of crime fiction who aspires to more. And she is obviously fed up with inventing a crime plot. So be it, but without this reader here.
