I don´t know, how many Richard Jury novels Martha Grimes has written, but I found out, that they are all named after a different pub. And, like Donna Leon, Grimes, a fellow American, prefers to set her stories in a European country.

Here it´s England, as all true Grimes addicts will know. And they also will probably understand, what it´s all about. I had the greatest difficulties finding out how the investigative characters are related. And that is the main thing here, apart from Martha Grimes´ admiration for Henry James. So another writer of crime fiction who aspires to more. And she is obviously fed up with inventing a crime plot. So be it, but without this reader here.
